The i5-12600K confirms its interest

Another new leak on an Alder Lake CPU with the i5-12600K. Here again, the information at our disposal seems to go in the same direction: a processor really at the level and even beyond. This time it was under Ashes of the Singularity that the i5-12600K was evaluated with the Crazy graphics setting at 1080p resolution. The future I5 obtained a score of 10,800 points, a result 33% above that of the Ryzen 5 5600X and 10.2% faster than its predecessor, the Intel Core i5-11600K.

No real gains with the first DDR5 kits?

As for the other tests, we have very few details on the configuration used and especially on the RAM (DDR4 or DDR5). However, according to our information, the use of DDR5 with the kits in circulation, would not really bring gains in performance compared to the “good” DDR4 kits of the moment. We will have to wait for the arrival of DDR5 kits at least 6400 and even beyond so that the new Intel can still widen the gap. And it won’t be for the CPU release. The Core i5-12600K features a 10-core, 18-thread configuration, which is divided into 6 high-performance P-Core cores @ 4.50 GHz (up to 2 cores @ 4.90 GHz Turbo) while the 4 low-power cores, E-Core, run at 3.40 GHz (up to 2 cores @ 3.60 GHz Turbo). These cores are accompanied by 20 MB of L3 cache. So it seems clear that on paper this future i5 is above the 6 cores and 12 threads of the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X. According to other information, the real competitor of the latter should be the i5-12400 on which we had some information too. Finally, we’ll have to see how this 12600Kis really positioned in terms of price, as the leaks on the subject position it well above 300€.
