Apparently there are some countries where the new non-K Alder Lake CPUs are already on the shelves of retailers. In Peru a 12400F could be bought. We have already written about it several times but the 12400F should be the right choice for the beginning of 2022 with a very interesting potential. Regularly announced at the level (or better) than a 5600X, it should cost less than 200 USD. A local tester was able to buy a 12400KF for 899 Sols, or about 196€ including the 18% VAT applied in Peru.
The 12400F is a serious candidate for a gaming machine. It is a processor with 6 cores / 12 threads based for 65W in theory. The special feature of this Core i5 is that it does not have the hybrid Intel architecture, which means that it only has the performance cores.
Officially the “non-K” Alder Lake range should be launched in early January during CES 2022 (the Intel conference will be followed on our Twitch January 4). This launch should be done with the B660 and H610 chipsets that will provide tools to design machines with more aggressive prices.
We expect to be able to build PCs with this processor at less than 200 euros, while its direct competitor, the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, is still positioned at over 300 euros.
