The Alder Lake i7-12700K CPU delivers big ?

Only a few days left before we get a “real” idea about these next Alder Lake CPUs from Intel. While the boss of the blues seems to continue to want to show his muscles, leaks are multiplying… While gaining in precision all the same. The latest one comes from the CPU-Z benchmark, which allows you to get an idea of the raw performance of a processor.

i7 12700K

The i7-12700K up to 45% faster than the Core i9-11900K and Ryzen 7 5800X?

This is the friend TUM_APISAK who released these results, a boy so far serious in his sources. The benchmark result shows that the Intel Core i7-12700K scores 800.2 points in single-core tests and 9423.2 points in multi-core tests. Let’s not forget that the Core i7-12700K is a CPU with “only” 12 cores. However, its price positioning could put it in front of the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X and incidentally its ancestor Intel Core i7-11700K. The results obtained here are clearly spectacular (again if they are verified).

  • In the single-core test, the i7-12700K is about 25% faster than the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X.
  • In the multicore test, the i7-12700K dominates with a score of almost 45% above the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X. The upcoming Intel i7 only loses to the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, which is also a 12-core CPU but takes advantage of 24 threads. And still, the score only marks a difference of about 2% in favor of the AMD.

Let’s not forget the specificity of these future Alder Lake and especially the i7-12700K in question. The Core i7-12700K will offer 8 Golden Cove cores but will reduce the Gracemont cores to 4. This will give a total of 12 cores (8+4) and 20 threads (16+4). The official launch of the Alder Lake CPUs is scheduled for November 4 and we should be able to tell you more in the next few days probably with a launch specific event.
