The 7900X3D and an RTX 4090 tested on Ashes of the Singularity

Ashes of the Singularity… It’s been a while since we last heard about it. Anyway, the game resurfaces since in its test database there is a Ryzen 9 7900X3D. The CPU was paired with an RTX 4090 during testing!

Well, let’s face it, a result on AOTS(Ashes of the Singularity), does not mean much. Indeed, the bench is not very reliable… And well, it is still from 2016, it does not really reflect the workload of a modern game.

Anyway, during the test, the CPU was paired with an RTX 4090, running the game in 1080p with ” Crazy” graphics details, all under DirectX11. And in these conditions, the configuration was hitting 9000 pts with a framerate in the 90/91 FPS.

In the same conditions, also with an RTX 4090, a Core i9 13900K shows 107 FPS with 10600 pts, that is 16% more… But again, the reliability of the results as well as the age of the title means that we won’t take this into account. It’s not like the CPU was tested on Red Dead Redemption 2, Cyberpunk or Hogwarts Legacy.

Anyway, as a reminder, this CPU is a model equipped with 12 cores and 24 threads. It differs from its X counterpart by a larger amount of cache memory 128 MB against 64 MB. Otherwise, it displays the same 5.6 GHz boost, but overclocking is impossible.
