TeamGroup offers us some heavyweight SSDs. On the program, we find three different series with the MP44, MP44S and MP34S. All of them are available in different formats with capacities up to 8Tb!

TeamGroup MP44 - MP44S - MP34S

MP44: the standard format, the largest capacity!

With its MP44, the brand offers models in the “classic” M.2 2280 format. These can display very large capacities since we are talking about models of 512 GB, 1 TB, 2 TB, 4 TB and especially 8 TB.

Behind that, the figures are good since they are references capable of reaching speeds of 7.4 GB/s in sequential reading. In sequential writing, we go up to 7 GB/s. Finally, on the endurance side, we have SSDs capable of reaching 6000 TBW for the 8 TB version. The others are at :

  • 512 GB: 700 TBW
  • 1 TB : 1450 TBW
  • 2 TB : 2500 TBW
  • 4 TB : 3000 TBW

MP44S : M.2 2230 for the Steam Deck !

The MP44S comes in a much shorter format than its predecessor, as it is an M.2 2230 SSD, which is only 3 cm long! This does not prevent TeamGroup from offering capacities of 1Tb and 2Tb, ideal to improve the capacity of your Valve console.

That said, the performance is down compared to the previous series. Indeed, we are at 5 GB/s in sequential reading against 3.5 GB/s in writing. Similarly, the endurance is a little lower: 250 TBW for the 1 TB model against 450 TBW for the 2 TB.

MP34S : M.2 2242 in PCIe 3.0 x4 !

We finish with the last one of the series, a little bit bigger than the 44S, since it is in M.2 2240 format. However, we go down in range since we find a PCIe 3.0 x4 interface. The speeds are therefore reduced and we turn to 2.5 GB / s in reading against 2.2 GB in sequential writing. The same goes for the smaller capacities: 1 TB and 512 GB. However, they show an endurance of 400 TBW for the 512 GB version against 800 TBW in 1 TB!

For the moment, no price is known.
