STALKER 2 has now been released and reviewed by PCGamesHardware.de. However, the game is far from being as smooth and polished as other AAA games, far from it. From what we’ve read, despite launch patches that corrected quite a few problems, some remain. Well, let’s just say that the title has undergone chaotic development, nevertheless, this is a game that loves CPUs with high frequencies!
STALKER 2: expect a CPU with high frequencies!
First of all, remember that the game was tested on a particularly demanding scene, in a village, at night and in fog. In addition, the tests carried out by our colleagues were done in 1080p with an RTX 4090, the aim here being to avoid being limited by the graphics card, which tends to happen when playing at high resolutions.
Finally, it was revealed that the game is particularly fond of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, as it topped the charts. On average, the CPU displays 98 fps, with a more than comfortable gain of 25% over the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and 17% over the Core i9 14900KS and Ultra 9 285K. However, despite this excellent average performance, the processor suffers from significant FPS drops.
Finally, at the very top of the ranking is the so-called “optimized” Core i9 14900K. Behind this, our colleagues mean an overclocked Core i9 coupled with memory running at 7200 MT/s. This enables the CPU to outperform the 9800X3D by 1%!
