RX 7900 XTX: a picture of the card shows its heatsink

Via the profile Twitter HXL we can find a first photo showing, apparently, of an RX 7900 XTX or XT from AMD. The card in question displays the new reference heatsink of the brand. And, as a bonus, it does not include the new 12VHPWR connector. No risk of a fire starting because of a dubious adapter!

We are clearly dealing with an engineering sample. Indeed, the card shows a red PCB as well as many contact and measurement points on the back. It is therefore not impossible that some elements will change before the launch. Like the printed circuit board which will change to black or the addition of a backplate in particular.

On the other hand, for the heatsink, it seems to be well on its way to being a final model. The finish on this version of the card is clean and we find the style brought by the previous generation.

For the time being, the fairing is less square and a little more round. Similarly, we can see the presence of four small borders, this time RGB? In any case, the card has three fans with nine blades connected to each other via an internal hoop.

AMD RX 7900 XTX As for the radiator, it has numerous black aluminum fins, three of which are red. Moreover, when looking at the edge, we realize that the card is a little longer than the previous generation because of the shape of the fairing. Nevertheless, AMD offers a rather compact card: 2.5 slots against 3 slots for the NVIDIA card. This only bodes well for the custom models.

On the power supply side, we can’t miss the two 8-pin PCIe connectors instead of the 12VHPWR found on NVIDIA. If this allows us to keep our power supply for longer and avoid falling on bad adapters, so much the better!
