RX 7900 GRE available in retail?

The RX 7900 GRE seems to have come a long way. Initially, the card was intended exclusively for the Chinese market, then arrived in Europe, albeit under certain conditions. Initially, it was available to OEMs, then as a bundle via upgrade kits. Now, some resellers sell or used to sell the card retail, notably in Spain!

The RX 7900 GRE on retail sale?

RX 7900 GRE

This card is based on the same Navi 31 XL GPU as the RX 7900 XT. However, its configuration is slightly different, as it features 80 Compute Units instead of 84 as on the 7900 XT. The number of stream processors is also lower: 5,120 instead of 5,376. Finally, the memory section is also less developed, with 16 GB on a 256-bit bus. Despite its 18 Gbps frequency, bandwidth is 576 GB/s, compared with 800 GB/s for the 7900 XT and 624 GB/s for the 7800 XT.

However, what interests us here is the fact that the card was available for retail sale in Spain. PC Componentes advertised Sapphire’s Pulse model at €720. This was also the case in Romania, with a Sapphire model also at 3,699 RON (Their Romanian), equivalent to €745. Unfortunately, after checking, the product sheets are no longer available.

In all cases, the cards were sold in the BULK version, i.e. in a completely basic box used only for transport. Inside you would have found the card and that was that. Even so, the warranty would have been two years, as stipulated by European law.
