Apparently, AMD is working on a new graphics card based on the Navi 31 GPU. This would be an edition specially designed for the Chinese market (again). It would feature a castrated chip, even more so than the 7900 XT, and a memory capacity reduced to 16 GB. Here’s some information on the RX 7900 GRE!

RX 7900 GRE: a 16 GB version for China!

Sapphire RX 7900 XT MBA - RX 7900 GREFor the moment, it’s hard to say exactly what the GPU configuration will be. Nevertheless, we’re likely to be dealing with an amputated Navi 31, with a number of compute units ranging from 80 to 84. The latter would then contain between 5120 and 5376 stream processors. As for memory, its capacity would be reduced from 20 to 16 GB, while the memory bus would also be reduced from 320 bits to 256 bits.

Now that that’s out of the way, we just need to know the GPU frequency, launch date and price of this version. In the meantime, this card will follow on from the RX 590 GME, which was launched in 2020. As a reminder, this was a card referring to the year of the rat in China. This time, GRE stands for ” Golden Rabbit Edition “, according to VideoCardz. In short, when will there be an RX 7900 CDGE for “Charles de Gaulle Edition”? 🙃
