RX 6600 Armor : MSI would resurrect an old series of graphics card !

The Armor series… It’s been a while since we heard about it. Indeed, for AMD GPUs, the series does not exist anymore since the Polaris series (RX 400 – RX 500). On GeForce, we had the right to a version 2 on the RTX 2000. Anyway, all this to say that the brand would bring back to life its series of cards with an RX 6600 Armor… With a V1 heatsink.

RX 6600 Armor: the series back to life!

MSI RX 6600 Armor

Ooh, when we see this, we get a little slap in the face since we hadn’t seen this design for a few years already. The last time, it dated back to the RX 500 series (in 2018) since on the following ranges, the brand focused on its Mech series.

Anyway, we have a heatsink smaller than the PCB. As you can see, the PCB protrudes from all sides of the board. On the other hand, this guarantees us a limited space. By the way, the cooling is equipped with two large fans, but we do not know if a backplate will be included.

For now, it is difficult to say what frequencies will be at work, but according to our colleague we should not count on a factory OC. Thus, the GPU would run at 2491 MHz in boost with 8 GB of memory at 14 Gbps.

For the moment, no price, so all this is to be taken with caution. Let’s just hope that the use of this old heatsink will bring the prices down.
