Initially, the launch of the RTX 4080 Super was scheduled for today, January 31, 2024. However, at the last minute, NVIDIA decided to postpone publication of the card’s tests. They will therefore be published from January 31, 2024.
RTX 4080 Super: tests delayed due to late sample delivery!
We learn from VideoCardz that NVIDIA is delaying the launch… Finally, the publication of its RTX 4080 Super tests. Indeed, not all testers received their copy of the Founders Edition on time. Clearly, some editors only received their cards last W-E, while others only received them yesterday! Clearly, for a graphics card test, that’s very short indeed.
Even with this one-day extension, I can tell you that getting a test out on time is not going to be easy. While not all testers are concerned about the quality of their photos, not everyone is. Shooting and retouching take time… And that’s not to mention the time you’ll need to spend taking readings, putting together graphics, editing, etc.
For the time being, the card tests won’t be published until tomorrow, which is also when the cards go on sale.
On paper, this 4080S comes with a more complete GPU than the first iteration, while memory remains unchanged. Nevertheless, its introductory price has been revised downwards: $999 instead of $1199. We therefore expect higher performance, but only a minimal increase, while the invoice should be lower.
