In June 2024, the Chinese brand Zephyr announced an RTX 4070 Sakura, a graphics card in ITX format, measuring just 17 cm in length. The brand is back at the start of the year with a model based on a similar concept, but with a new aluminium fairing.
RTX 4070 Sakura Snow X: new ITX version from Zephyr!
With this card, the brand is offering us a singular model, as it goes against the current trend for heavy, imposing cards. In fact, we’re dealing with an ITX format with a model measuring 178 mm in length. What’s more, as you can see, its heatsink is fitted with a single fan. That’s quite a change from models with three or even four fans, which are the size of a cinder block.
The other special feature of this card is its all-aluminium shell. The brand goes a step further by integrating the PCIe bracket directly into it. Beware, however, that the bracket will be much thicker than on a more traditional graphics card. Depending on the case and the screws supplied, this could pose a problem.
What’s more, given the format and the heatsink cooled by a single fan, the brand has not tried factory overclocking. This model retains the reference frequencies of the NVIDIA card, i.e. 2475 MHz, while the TDP remains at 200. Obviously, if the heatsink is limited in size, the brand is not going to add any additional constraints. What’s more, the aluminium casing helps to improve temperature management. Compared to the plastic-shelled model, this version boasts lower temperatures under Furmark, dropping from 71.9°C on the GPU to 68.9°C. The hotspot is also lower: 83°C compared with 86.2°C, while the memory also drops by 6°C.
For prices, expect to pay $600!
