Raptor Lake Refresh : it’s confirmed

0

It was understood that Intel wanted to take a short break before the arrival of its future generations. Raptor Lake refresh was thus a rumor that came back with insistence these last weeks. This time, it’s much more than a rumor since a new roadmap from Intel for the next months has just been disclosed. This leak has the merit to show us the range of processors to come for the next 5 quarters. We have the confirmation of the return of the HEDT with the Sapphire Rapids-WS and the confirmation of the refresh of the Raptor Lake-S processors for the second part of the next year.

This 13th generation update should not cause any disruption as far as motherboards and chipsets are concerned. So the Z790 will remain the top of the range. We will just see the W790 platform for Xeon Sapphire Rapids-WS processors move up. This leak is completed by a list of the next Xeon that Intel intends to launch in 2023. A year that will be very dense while at the same time AMD will deliver its Ryzen 7000X3D processors. Finally, the arrival of the new Ryzen Threadripper PRO will probably be disrupted by the return of Intel on the HEDT market with the Xeon WS. The two brands will therefore find themselves in competition on several markets, with the hope that this new turmoil will be beneficial for the end customer.
