In the UK, RTX 40 prices have been reduced. But please note: these are not NVIDA-initiated price cuts! In fact, the weak dollar is driving down graphics card prices!

RTX 40: lower prices thanks to the weak dollar!

NVIDIA RTX 40After a complicated year of rate hikes by the FED, the dollar was back in force. As a result, graphics card prices were particularly high. However, for some time now, the weight of the US currency has been starting to ease, as investors anticipate a slowdown in rate hikes by the US central bank. As a result, the weight of their currency has fallen, reinforcing that of other currencies such as sterling and the euro.

Without going into an economics lesson, in the world of computer hardware, this is good news. Indeed, imported products, such as graphics cards, are seeing their prices fall. We spoke to you about this last May. At present, it’s the UK that’s benefiting most from its strong currency. RTX 40 prices have thus fallen from :

  • RTX 4090: from £1579 to £1519
  • RTX 4080: from £1179 to £1139
  • RTX 4070: from £589 to £569

cours euro dollar

Over here, for the moment, no apparent price change. As last May, the RTX 4090 continues to be priced at €1,769. However, we wouldn’t be surprised to see some price readjustments in the near future. At present, €1 is equivalent to $1.12, compared with €1 for $1.09 at the beginning of May.

Of course, having a strong currency is only interesting when importing products. In the case of exports, it becomes complicated..
