A new SSD series from Patriot: the Viper VP4300 Lite. The program includes “everyday” models, since these SSDs are equipped with a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface. Now, what about performance?
VP4300 Lite: PCIe 4.0 x4 SSDs!
With this series, Patriot offers a range of SSDs in M.2 format, in capacities of 500 GB, 1 TB, 2 TB and 4 TB for larger storage needs. Internally, it’s hard to say what we’re dealing with here, but we do know that it will also be compatible with Sony’s PlayStation 5.
As for performance, it’s typical of PCIe 4.0 models. Sequential read speeds are 7.4 GB/s, while write speeds are 6.4 GB/s. In fact, in Sony’s console, write speeds fall to 6.1 GB/s. As for endurance, the American brand mentions 1600 TBW for the 2 TB model. We can imagine that it will be 800 TBW for 1TB, 3200 TBW for 4TB and 400 TBW for 500GB.
For the moment, no price is known, but the launch will be late: at the end of 2023. That’s a long way off!
