This RTX 2060, equipped with 12GB of vram, which had been much talked about in recent months, has been made official by Nvidia for December 7.

An RTX 2060 Super with double the GDDR6

It was since early September that the rumor of a new RTX 2060 (released in January 2019) equipped with 12 GB of GDDR6 instead of 6, had appeared on the net. Initially taken as a crazy rumor, it was soon more and more confirmed, until today with Nvidia making the card official for December 7.

Nvidia RTX 2060 12 Go

The information comes from The Verge, which was contacted by the brand to announce the new card.

The RTX 2060 12GB is an RTX 2060 Super with video memory that has been doubled, thus using the TU 106 chip with 2176 cuda core and frequencies ranging from 1470 MHz in base and 1650 MHz in Boost (lower than the base RTX 2060), the TDP of the card will be at 185W.

On the other hand, the card keeps a 192-bit bus that does not improve the bandwidth, which remains at 336 GB/s, a choice that could be felt on the performance and does not bring a very interesting gain in games or applications that do not require such a high amount of vram.

Regarding the cost of this new GPU, Nvidia did not share any figures, but said that this premium version of the RTX 2060 will have a price that reflects the upscale of the card, so we could expect a MSRP exceeding $ 299.
