Clearly, sales of hardware designed for artificial intelligence have become NVIDIA’s core business. As we saw in its latest financial results, the server sector is clearly the most profitable for the company. To achieve such figures, the company sold half a million AI boards in the third quarter of 2023!

When we say AI is a booming sector, it’s not for nothing. From Omdia‘s research, we learn that NVIDIA sold half a million boards aimed at this sector. The majority of these were H100s and A100s, the most powerful cards on the market today.
If China represents a juicy sector, accounting for 30% of the chameleon’s sales, it’s the American tech giants that are most keen on it. As we can see, Meta and Microsoft are the companies that have ordered the most cards, mainly to power their generative AI functionalities.
Then, in a tie, we have the giants Google, Amazon, Oracle and China’s Tencent with 50 thousand cards each. At the very bottom is Tesla, with 15,000 cards ordered, behind other Chinese giants such as Baidu, Alibaba and ByteDance.
Finally, this success helps us to understand the waiting times for card delivery. Lamini, AMD’s partner company, was just laughing at the long waiting time of 52 weeks (1 year). Meanwhile, NVIDIA can pride itself on selling GPUs by the ton!
