Austrian brand Noctua has just launched its latest accessory, the NA-VC1. This is actually a 24V to 12V voltage converter for fans. The aim is to allow 12V fans to operate with peace of mind in 24V environments, such as 3D printers.
NA-VC1: a secure voltage converter!
The program includes a voltage reducer with a number of protection features. Noctua emphasizes the safety aspect of its device, since it includes protection against overheating, short-circuit, overvoltage and reverse polarity. We also learn that this converter supports a total output power of 9W. It will therefore be possible to connect several fans via a splitter, for example.
Otherwise, the unit is compact, measuring 31 (W) x 16 (D) x 8.5 (H) mm. On one side, we’ll plug in our 24V source, with the 12V fans on the other. As mentioned above, this is a device that will be used mainly on 3D printers operating with this type of voltage.
For the price, you’ll need to reckon with no less than €24.90, which isn’t cheap.
