The Noctua brand has come up with some new heat sinks. On the program: the NH-D9L, a 90 mm double-tower ventirad, and the NH-L9x65, a small top flow. Both these fans are now in full black, making them part of the chromax.black range!
The NH-D9L chromax.black:
With this new heatsink, we simply return to a full black version of the original NH-D9L. However, this color is much easier to match in a PC than the brand’s classic brown/beige.
In this case, we’re dealing with a 90mm double-tower ventirad. It features two stacks of aluminum fins to increase its heat exchange surface. Nevertheless, it has a limited footprint of 95 (W) x 95 (D) x 100 (H) mm, including the fan.
As can be seen, it benefits from a total of four copper heat pipes meeting at a base, also copper-plated and nickel-plated.
Ventilation is provided by an NF-A9 PWM chromax.black mill. This is a standard 92 mm mill and will operate at up to 2000 rpm at full speed. At full speed, airflow reaches 46.44 CFM, while static pressure rises to 2.28 mmH2O.
Finally, the list of compatible sockets mentions LGA-1851/1700/1200/115x as well as AM5 and AM4.
The NH-L9x65 chromax.black:
The NH-L9x65 chromax.black is a compact top-flow heatsink. This translates into dimensions of 95 (W) x 95 (D) x 65 (H) mm including fan.
It features a fairly dense aluminum fin block, with four 6 mm copper heat pipes running through it. Once again, contact with the processor is via a nickel-plated copper base.
On the fan side, we find a small NF-A9x14 HS-PWM chromax.black. This is a slim 92 mm fan (15 mm thick). At full speed, it will operate at 2500 rpm and generate an airflow of 33.84 CFM. Static pressure, on the other hand, is 2.11 mmH2O.
As for socket compatibility, it offers the same list as the NH-D9L.
Pricing:
The NH-D9L costs €74.90, while the NH-L9x65 is priced at €69.90. Very high prices, considering the format! Availability is through Amazon. Note that Noctua is the seller, while Amazon itself handles shipping. What’s more, you’re guaranteed to find fans at the right price!
