Ensuring consistent quality in the production of computer products is not an easy task. Besides, right herein the past, we have reported a series of problems with the RTX 3000. In short, problems on the production line do happen, and they can even affect thermal paste, as Arctic recently found out. Indeed, some MX-5 batches had problems!

MX-5: oil and paste badly mixed?

Arctic MX-5The problem with the Swiss brand’s thermal paste was quickly identified and resolved. Indeed, some batches had a defect of homogeneity between the oil and the rest of the paste. Behind this, the consequences are quickly felt since the incriminated syringes could dry and harden rather quickly. This concern even impacts the application which is more difficult than usual.

Of course, all this can have a negative impact on cooling performance. Between a poorly applied and/or too dry paste, we can imagine your processor quickly taking degrees… Especially if it is a model with a large number of cores.

Fortunately, quality control is doing its job well and was able to quickly identify the incriminated batches which were withdrawn from sale. On the other hand, if you have recently purchased a MX-5 syringe, a quick email to support of the brand will allow you to clarify all this. In case of a faulty syringe, the company will replace it without exception.
