MSI launches its MPG Gungnir 300 and MAG Forge 320R and 120A cases

MSI is definitely on a roll at the moment, as the brand announces a number of new cases. These include the MPG Gungnir 300 and MAG Forge 320R and 120A. In addition to their motherboards and their limited-edition 4060s, we’ll be able to put together a new-generation MSI configuration… And don’t forget the MAG CoreLiquid E!

MPG Gungnir 300: two cases for the series!

With this series, the brand offers us a total of three cases, with the 300R available in black and white. On the other side, we find the 300P in black only. Now, what’s the difference between the R and the P? It’s hard to say… First of all, the R series comes with four aRGB fans with front panel light control, while the 300P offers four non-illuminated fans.

Secondly, there’s the question of the graphics card mounting system. Clearly, both series can accommodate a GPU vertically, but by default only the 300P is equipped to do so. If we’re honest, the 300P comes with a vertical support and riser, which doesn’t seem to be the case with the 300R.

For the rest, the cameras share a similar specification sheet and identical compatibilities. We learn that it will be possible to install two 360 mm push/pull radiators at the top and front. Ventilation can accommodate up to ten 120 mm fans.

In both cases, the case comes with a tempered glass graphics card support. The CPU cooler is 175 mm high, the CG 360 mm long and the power supply 220 mm deep. For storage, up to eight 2.5″ units or six 2.5″ and two 3.5″ units can be fitted.

MAG Forge 320R and 120A, what’s new?

MSI MAG Forge 320 et 120

The MAG Forge series includes two entry-level enclosures. While the 320R accommodates more fans (11), the 120R is much more compact. The latter measures 210 (W) x 411.6 (D) x 498 (H) mm, compared with 210 (W) x 472.5 (D) x 498 (H) mm for the 320R.

Otherwise, the two cases will accommodate fairly similar configurations. The CPU cooler is 160 mm high, while the power supply is 200 mm deep. However, the graphics card will not be the same size in the 320R as in the 120A: 390 mm vs. 330 mm. So forget the big XFX in the 120A.

Finally, the 320R offers a few interesting extras. These include anaRGB hub for six luminous devices, a 4-in-1 fan splitter and a 90° USB 3.0 cable!
