MP600 Mini and MP600 Core, two new SSDs from Corsair

0

Corsair has released two new series of SSDs. In the program, we find the MP600 Mini and the MP600 Core XT. SSDs with very different objectives.

The MP600 Mini: a small format SSD for 1TB of storage!

Corsair MP600 MiniWith this MP600 Mini, Corsair offers us a really tiny SSD. This is linked to its ultra small size since it is in fact an SSD M.2 2230. It is intended for confined spaces such as laptops, Microsoft Surface Pro 8 and 9 or portable gaming systems such as the Steam Deck.

However, this ultra small format does not prevent this model from displaying 1TB of capacity. Moreover, it has a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface and displays sequential speeds reaching 4.8 GB/s in reading and writing.

The MP600 Core XT, a more conventional format!

The MP600 Core XT is a more traditional SSD as it comes in a M.2 2280 format. It is also equipped with a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface, however, it differs from the version of its type of memory chip. Here we find 3D NAND QLC, instead of TLC for its Mini counterpart. Endurance is also greatly reduced, with the Mini boasting 600 TBW versus 250 TBW for the 1TB Core XT.

There is also a significant difference in performance. The maximum sequential speeds reach 5 GB/s in reading against 4.4 GB/s in writing.

Very clearly, this is an entry-level SSD whose entry ticket is €69.99 with 1 TB of storage. The 2TB and 4TB models are priced at €134.99 and €324.99 with respective capacities of 450 TBW and 900 TBW. For comparison, the MP600 Mini is 124.99 on the Corsair website !
