While the new RTX 4070 Super models feature a power supply based on a 12VHPWR connector, the Maxsun brand takes things in the opposite direction. In fact, its iCraft model features a duo of 8-pin PCIe!

Maxsum offers an RTX 4070 Super powered by two 8-pin PCIe!

Maxsun RTX 4070 Super iCraftLike its competitors, Maxsum also offers RTX 4070 Super. However, its iCraft version comes with a twist: its power supply connector. Instead of the much-discussed 12VHPWR connector, this version comes with “old-fashioned” connectors, albeit still used by AMD: 8-pin PCIe. Here, to power the card, there are two of them!

Where most board manufacturers are pushing 12VHPWR, a logical choice in view of the board’s 220W power consumption, AMD is taking things in the opposite direction. On the one hand, we can’t hold it against them, as this guarantees a certain compatibility with existing power supplies, while dispensing with the need for an adapter that can withstand slight constraints, notably in terms of cable bending.

As for the rest, this is a classic card featuring a violet heatsink with three fans. It will also take up a little more than two slots in a PC case, but it won’t be a cinder block either. As for price, we find it listed at 4,999 yuan, or around €640.
