Asus announces a new motherboard with its Maximus Z690 Extreme Glacial, an ultra high-end motherboard as we told you in our test. Moreover, Asus is going all out with this model as we will see.
Maximus Z690 Extreme Glacial : a fully watercooled motherboard !
With this new model, the brand launches a card in E-ATX format. As we can see, it is larger than a more classic model. However, the brand is clearly focusing on watercooling. Right out of the box, you’ll find an imposing waterblock signed EKWB. This will cool the CPU, the power supply stages, the chipset and the first M.2 slot!
As for the connectivity, this model supports DDR5 with a maximum capacity of 128 GB for a frequency of 6400 MT/s. As for the PCIe, we have two in x16 with the 5.0 standard. A small last one in x1 3.0 completes the whole. Finally, the storage part puts forward six SATA III, one M.2 5.0 x4 and four M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4. Clearly, we will have enough to do.
Finally, the most impressive thing here is the huge power supply dedicated to the CPU part. Indeed, the Core i of twelfth generation benefits from a total of 24 + 1 + 2 phases placed in parallel. Finally, these phases are accompanied by Mosfet in 105A.
Obviously, with all this, we are dealing with a very expensive card since it is a model displayed at almost 2300 € on LDLC!
This way to the Asus datasheet ! And here for our test!
