MSI unveils its new MAG GL series of power supplies. The special feature of this series is the integrated 12VHPWR connector indicator. So, at a glance, you’ll know whether your graphics card or cable is properly connected to the power supply.
MAG GL: power supplies with 12VHPWR connection indicator!
The program includes three power supplies offering power ratings of 650W, 750W and 850W. All three are 14 cm deep. Otherwise, they are 80+ Gold certified and ATX 3.0 compliant… Without in the case of the 650W.
Otherwise, we’re treated to “classic” power supplies featuring 100% Japanese capacitors. Likewise, we find a single 12V rail and a full-bridge topology with DC-to-DC converter. Protection features include OCP,OTP,OVP, OPP,UVP and SCP.
Finally, the main new feature concerns the 750W and 850W units, and more specifically the 12VHPWR. In fact, the base of the connector is yellow, so you can see at a glance if it’s properly plugged in.
As for availability, for the moment only the 750W and 850W versions are on sale. Expect to pay around €140 for the 750W version and €150 for the 850W block.
