A little return to the world of M.2 heatsinks with Ineo which offers us its M12. A passive model featuring a copper tube wrapped around an aluminum base. How is it built? Let’s have a look at it.

M12: the original passive M.2 heatsink from Ineo!

Ineo M12 On the program, the brand concocts us a visually interesting product. As we can see, we find a kind of aluminum base on which the cooling system is screwed. The original part concerns the copper tube left in the open air which will benefit from the air flow of the case.

Now, we wonder about the efficiency of the thing. Obviously, the tube is not perfectly flush with the body of the heatsink and, to improve the contact, the brand uses thermal paste to fill the holes. If you count the copper base and the thermal pad in contact with the SSD, this multiplies the interfaces. Not sure that this system is really efficient… Even if the brand announces gains of 10°C to 25°C.

Nevertheless, this model turns out to be quite imposing since it has a total height of 45 mm, be careful if you install it between two PCIe slots. Moreover, this model is intended for M.2 2280 SSDs.

For the price, this solution remains quite affordable with a price of $23 currently on Amazon.com. The only question is about the real efficiency of such a product… On the other hand, it is original.
