The Kioxia brand has just unveiled new SSDs with its BG6 series. This new range is based on BICS6 memory, but is intended for the OEM market if we believe our Chinese colleagues.

BG6: SSDs using BICS6 memory at Kioxia!

Kioxia BG6With this new batch, the brand offers us SSDs in M.2 2280 format with 2230 options. Several capacities are also on the program with models of 256 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB.

Internally, these models will use the new generation of NAND Flash produced by Kioxia. Well… only the largest capacities since the 256GB and 512GB versions will use BICS5.

On their side, the performances are announced as decent with 6 GB/s in reading and 5.3 GB/s in writing. As for the random performance, it is 850k IOPS in reading and 900k IOPS in writing. Note that they use a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface.

For the moment, no indication as to the price has been provided. However, we do know that they will be aimed at OEMs, that they will be exhibited at Dell Technologies World and that copies will be sent to OEMs from the second half of the year.
