Kingston offers a new series of SSDs with its DC600M. We are talking about models intended for data center use. The capacities will be important and the protection mechanisms as well.

DC600M: SSDs for data center use!

Kingston DC600MWith this series, the brand offers us the most classic SSDs in 2.5″ format, all with a SATA III 6 Gbps interface. If from the start the performances are not crazy, the capacities will be much more interesting. Indeed, this range is declined in units of 480 Go, 960 Go, 1,92 To, 3,84 To and 7,68 To!

Inside, we know that the brand opts for memory type 3D TLC NAND with a protection system against power cuts. Similarly, we also have an encryption system in AES-256 bits.

Regarding performance, we find, at best, sequential speeds of 560 MB / s in reading against 530 MB / s in writing. The random performance shows at best 94k IOPS in reading and 78k IOPS in writing for the 1.92 TB version.

Finally, for endurance, we have:

  • 480GB: 876 TBW
  • 960 GB : 1752 TBW
  • 1,92 TB : 3504 TBW
  • 3,84 TB : 7008 TBW
  • 7,68 TB : 14016 TBW

Otherwise, they will take one full rewrite per day for five and or 1.66 full rewrites for 3 years. On the 7.68TB version, that’s a lot of data to handle.
