As you know, Intel’s 13th and 14th generation CPUs suffer from instabilities that, in some cases, render them unusable. Of course, the blues have already reacted, with a patch in the works, but among the brand’s actions, we had the announcement of an extended warranty for these models. Via Guru3D, we know the list and it concerns 24 processors!
24 Intel CPUs concerned by warranty extension!
Normally, rookie CPUs are covered by a 3-year warranty. However, in light of recent events, the company has announced a 2-year warranty extension to 5 years. This covers 12 models, as follows
- 13th generation :
- Core i9 13900 – KS – K – KF – F
- Core i7 13700 – K – KF – F
- Core i7 13790F
- Core i5 13600K – KF
- 14th generation :
- Core i9 14900 – KS – K – KF – F
- Core i7 14700 – K – KF – F
- Core i7 14790F
- Core i5 14600K – KF
If you’re already a customer, you’ll benefit from this extension free of charge, and likewise if you’re planning to acquire one of these processors. What’s more, all versions marketed by Team Blue are covered. These include the :
- Boxes, the classic, off-the-shelf formats
- Bulk, CPUs sold without packaging, often in wafer form for integrators
- CPUs sold in the case of machines assembled by OEMs, the famous HP, DELL, etc…
Finally, depending on the version purchased, you’ll need to contact Intel directly for boxed CPUs. For processors sold in bulk format, contact your reseller directly, while you’ll need to deal directly with the manufacturer of your OEM machine in the event of a problem with a PC signed by HP, for example.
