The main problem with an CPU cooler fan is that heat is not distributed evenly across the network of aluminum fins. With a conventional design, heat is distributed around heat pipes often located at the ends of the fin stack. With the Hyper 212 3DHP, the brand adds two heat pipes to the base center, ensuring a more even distribution of heat. Worst of all, the cooler isn’t even that expensive!
Hyper 212 3DHP: better heat distribution!
This is a classic single-tower heatsink. Dimensions are compact at 133 (W) x 86 (D) x 158 (H) mm. The weight is not stated, but you can expect it to be quite heavy, given the amount of copper present.
Here, we find a stack of aluminum fins in the classic “3D” heat pipe system. The structure is made up of six vertical tubes, four at the ends of the fins and two in the middle of the base. In this way, heat is captured and distributed more evenly across the fins. This should result in better heat dissipation and fewer hot spots.
To dissipate this heat, Cooler Master has opted for a 120 mm fan that runs at up to 2050 rpm. At maximum capacity, the mill will generate an airflow of 63.1 CFM and a static pressure of 2.69 mmH2O.
Despite the innovations present here, Cooler Master announces a small price tag, as this model is positioned at $29.99! What’s more, the brand is generous with its 5-year warranty, as opposed to the usual 2 years on this type of product. In short, it’s not impossible that we’re dealing with the most innovative entry-level product. It remains to be seen how it performs in thermal tests.
