MSI has announced the arrival of a new motherboard. On the program, the brand unveils its H670 Tomahawk D4, a motherboard equipped with an Intel H670 chipset… Moreover, you will see, its look is really well taken care of.
H670 Tomahawk D4 : an MSI motherboard in DDR4 !
With this new model, the brand puts forward a motherboard in standard ATX format. This board also has a nice design, entirely black, which makes it really sober, despite its large heatsinks. In any case, we really like it.
As far as connectivity is concerned, there is everything you need with, in particular, a first PCIe x16 5.0. The next two (physical x16) are actually running in x4 and x1, all in the 3.0 standard. Finally, in the middle of all this beauty, we have the right to a single PCIe x1 3.0.
The storage section features six SATA III connectors. They are completed by a total of three M.2. Among them, the first two only run in PCIe x4 4.0 and are Intel Optane compatible. The last one, will be able to run in SATA in addition to PCIe x4 4.0.
Regarding the memory, no eccentricity with four memory slots in DDR4. The card can handle frequencies up to 4800 MHz!
We finish quickly with the power supply part which puts forward a total of 14 + 1 + 1 phases. These are composed of DrMOS in 55A. In addition, the PCB of the card is in six layers with 2 ounce copper tracks. Finally, to effectively cool the power supply stages, there are thermal pads with a conductivity of 7 W/mk.
