With its X870E Aero X3D Wood, Gigabyte offered a motherboard featuring white accents. In fact, we had the chance to review this model here. However, that was the white version. This time, the company is announcing the black variant with its X870E Aero X3D Dark Wood. Between us, this version is even more stylish and sophisticated than the original model, but that’s a matter of taste.
X870E Aero X3D Dark Wood: a stunning motherboard from Gigabyte!
Wood and leather on an AMD motherboard!
With this motherboard, Gigabyte offers us a black version of the original Aero X3D Wood, and honestly, mamma mia, it’s beautiful! Gigabyte has created a particularly refined design with this version. The wood tones blend perfectly with the rest of the board. The wood is also featured on the motherboard’s I/O shield as well as the audio section. Additionally, leather tabs are included on the SSD heatsinks to make them easier to remove.
Now for the specs:
Aside from the design, it’s worth noting that this is an ATX-format motherboard equipped with an AM5 socket and an X870Echipset —AMD’s most powerful offering in the consumer market. The CPU power delivery features a total of 16+2+2 power phases, all mounted on an eight-layer PCB.
For memory, there are fourDDR5 RAM slots, supporting up to 256 GB of RAM, all operating at 9000 MT/s (overclocked). The PCIe section features three connectors: the first is wired as Gen5 x16, the second as Gen5 x8, and the third as Gen4 x15. Finally, for storage, there are four M.2 slots—two PCIe Gen5 x4 and two PCIe Gen4 x4—along with four SATA III ports.
TheI/O ports include twoUSB4, five USB 3.2 Gen2, one USB-C 3.2 Gen2x2, and three USB 3.2 Gen1. A single video output is provided via HDMI, while dual 5 GbE Ethernet and WiFi 7 are also included. Finally, the audio is powered by a Realtek ALC1220 chip.
A price?
For now, the card has only been announced by Gigabyte; no price has been released yet. Currently, the white version is available starting at €400 at Alternate, Amazon, and so on. Let’s hope this variant will be available at a similar price.
