Akasa has announced the arrival of a new heatsink for SSDs. With its Gecko Pro, the brand offers us something to cool your SSD M.2 as it should be.
Gecko Pro: a heatsink for M.2 SSD!
With this model, we find a heatsink with compact dimensions. Indeed, it measures 71.5 (W) x 22 (D) x 8 (H) mm. The latter has an all-aluminum construction and has a thermal pad already installed. However, keep in mind that it is only intended for 2280 SSDs whose memory chips are only present on one side of the printed circuit.
As you can see, this model has large aluminum fins spaced widely. The brand indicates that this facilitates airflow for optimal heat dissipation.
The assembly part should not be very difficult, especially since it should be solid over time. For this, you will have to get out the screwdriver since the radiator is screwed directly on the SSD.
Finally, we end with the price, which is really accessible. For this product, it will cost 7.95 € … If this can prevent thermal throttling on our storage media, “it’s all good” as we say.
