We’ve been talking about it for a week now, but Galax is now fully owned by Palit. Initially, we thought the brand was simply being closed down, but in fact it’s more a case of the parent company “taking control” of the brand. Palit issues a new press release clarifying the Galax situation. Likewise, it features Ronaldo, the brand’s leader in Brazil.
Galax: under the Palit umbrella!
No worries for the KFA² and HOF brands either!
It would appear that there was a communication problem surrounding this affair, and that not everyone involved was properly informed. Apparently, Galax’s Brazilian boss, Ronaldo, had received inaccurate information about the brand’s closure. Inevitably, he published the information on X and the rumour spread.
However, in reality, we are witnessing more of a takeover of the brand by the parent company. Palit takes over the reins of the company, as well as the management of its after-sales service. The aim is to push the brand even further.
Secondly, Palit reassures us that the company is fully prepared for the launch of next-generation GPUs, and will continue to offer current GPUs. The same goes for the KFA² brand in Europe.
What about HOF?
But where we wonder most is on the future of the HOF range. The latest cards in the series were exclusive to the Asian market, and particularly to China (although they were available as imports). Unfortunately, with U.S. sanctions imposing restricted chips on the Middle Kingdom, a HOF range geared towards extreme overclocking no longer makes much sense – you only have to look at the characteristics of the RTX 5090 D v2 compared with v1 to see the state of the carnage.
From there, we wonder whether new HOFs won’t be designed for the American market. This will continue to perpetuate the series’ DNA with purely OC-oriented models. In contrast, for the European market, we don’t hold out much hope.
The other possibility is that the Hall of Fame range will be available as cards, albeit high-end, but mainstream, simply using the series name as bait.
