GA104 GPU-based RTX 3060s do exist

It’s an information we mentioned some time ago: Nvidia would “recycle” GPUs normally intended for RTX 3070Ti to make 3060. This is how we could find an RTX 3060 equipped with a GA104. This situation may have seemed surprising to many of us because this CPU is fundamentally different from the GA106 intended for the 3060. However, recycling CPUs that could not pass the quality tests to go on 3070Ti is not a first for Nvidia. We had already mentioned the RTX 2060 KO which followed the same principles a few months ago. Today, we know that these RTX 3060 are launched on the market. The GA104-150 is used to produce 3060s, at first sight, only for the Chinese market. Galax and Gainward thus, they refer to two “new” RTX 3060 based on this GPU. This card thus has the configuration of the GPU GA104-150 with 3584 CUDA cores, a 192-bit interface and 12 GB of GDDR6 memory.

RTX 3060 GA104 RTX 3060 GA104 This version of the 3060 should not behave differently from its larger sisters in most daily tasks and especially gaming. However, it is not impossible that as with the RTX 2060 KO some other abilities will appear with more accurate testing. We’ll have to wait for a full test of this version to get an idea. Finally, at this time nothing says that this 3060 will be in circulation on the European market before the end of the year.
