G.SKill has just announced the 8th edition of its annual “OC World Cup 2024” extreme overclocking competition, with a total prize pool of 40,000 USD. As in previous years, the competition will begin with an online qualification stage, running from March 1, 2024 to April 3, 2024 on hwbot.org.

The nine finalists from the online qualification stage will be invited to compete in the live qualification stage, during the week of Computex 2024 in Taipei. The nine finalists will share a prize pool of 40,000 USD, distributed as follows:

  • Champion: $10,000 USD
  • 2nd place: $6,500 USD
  • 3rd place : $ 5 000 USD
  • 4th place : $ 4 200 USD
  • 5th place : $ 3 400 USD
  • 6th place : $ 3 000 USD
  • 7th place : $ 2 800 USD
  • 8th place : $ 2 600 USD
  • 9th place : $ 2 500 USD

Last year, the competition was won by the American Seby9123, aged just 20, who took first place despite being the only “amateur” in the competition. If you want to take part in the OC World Cup 2024, you’ll need to score the most points in these four benchmarks:

  • Stage 1 – Memory Frequency DDR5
  • Stage 2 – PYPrime – 32b with BenchMate
  • Stage 3 – 7-Zip with BenchMate
  • Stage 4 – SuperPi – 32M with BenchMate

If you have a G.SKill DDR5 kit in your PC, there’s no reason not to try your luck!
