Freezer 4U-M, an Arctic cooler for server CPUs!

Arctic has launched its new Freezer 4U-M. This new model is designed for server processors, i.e. CPUs with socket LGA-4189/4677 and AMD SP6 & Co. What makes it special? Eight direct-touch copper heat pipes!

Freezer 4U-M: plenty of direct-touch heatpipes!

Arctic Freezer 4U-MWith this new heatsink, Arctic offers us a rather imposing heatsink, as you can see. What’s more, it adopts a single-tower format and a rough-cut design. The aluminum fins remain gray, while the heat pipes are not anodized. However, for server hardware, the pill will go down very well.

At present, we don’t yet know all the specifications. We do know that it measures 145 mm in height, enabling it to fit into a 4U rack. What’s more, it features two 120 mm push/pull fans with optimized power consumption: 2.88W despite a maximum speed of 2300 rpm. According to the brand, it’s perfectly suited to cooling a 64-core processor with a TDP of 350W.

This also makes it possible to install a 53mm-high RAM strip. The aluminum fins are shortened the closer you get to the socket. Last but not least, there are a large number of copper heat pipes: x8, spaced quite far apart. In this way, the heatsink will effectively cover theIHS of the processors on which it will be mounted.

In terms of price, it’s an affordable proposition, coming in at around €60 on Amazon.co.uk!
