More and more devices are using M.2 SSDs , such as Sony and Microsoft consoles. However, for portable devices such as Microsoft Surface, Lenovo Legion Go, ROG Ally or Steam Deck, it’s a different M.2 format. In these cases, we’re dealing with M.2 2230s. Seagate is present in this sector with its FireCuda 520N.

Seagate FireCuda 520NA truly compact SSD in M.2 2230 format, it’s perfectly suited to the above-mentioned consoles, and will enable you to upgrade your storage space considerably. As a reminder, a Steam Deck comes with a maximum of 512 GB from the factory, as do consoles from Asus and Lenovo. This Seagate model comes in 1TB and 2TB versions.

In terms of performance, this PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD offers sequential throughputs of up to 5 GB/s in 2 TB, compared with 4.8 GB/s in 1 TB. Unfortunately, random performance data are not provided.
