NZXT announces new fans with its F X series. In simple terms, this is a series of single-frame mills, featuring a thickness of 30 mm. It promises to be particularly high-performance, while offering simplified assembly thanks to a single frame for several fans!
F X Series: NZXT fans in 120, 240 and 360 mm!
With these new fans, NZXT has come up with some rather atypical mills. On the one hand, they’re particularly thick (30 mm). This increases the surface area of the blades, thus boosting performance. Then, as soon as you move away from the simple 120 mm and 140 mm fans, the 240, 280 and 360 mm models feature a single frame for several sets of blades.
We’d also like to point out that the construction is meticulous, thanks to the use of LPC for both the frame and the blades. This is particularly useful for fans operating at high speeds. What’s more, the edges of the frame feature particularly attractive brushed aluminum plates. Last but not least, we can’t fail to notice the RGB piping throughout.
Be that as it may, these fans boast high performance. With a unit speed of 3100 rpm, air flow is consistent at 104 CFM, while static pressure is not to be outdone at 7.53 mmH2O.
The mechanism features a 3-phase, six-pole motor and a fluid magnetic levitation bearing whose core is reinforced to prevent it from shifting over time. Finally, the blades fit very close to the frame, with a gap of just 0.5 mm.
Unfortunately, these fans require a substantial investment. The 120 mm version costs no less than €44.99, compared with €46.99 for the 140 mm version. The 240 and 280 mm versions are priced at €84.99 and €89.99 respectively, while the 360 mm model is €119.99!
