Having launched Arrow Lake desktop, all that remains is for Intel to bring its architecture to the laptop sector. We’ve already had our first taste of what’s possible with the first Geekbench scores for the Ultra 5 225H. OK, it’s still Geekbench, but it’s always ‘fun’ to see what it’s like.
Ultra 5 225H: first Geekbench scores!
This processor is a model designed for laptops. It has a total of 14 cores and 14 threads (4P/8E/2LPE). The base frequency is 1.7 GHz, with a turbo boost to 4.9 GHz. Unfortunately, the TDP is not known.
As far as scores are concerned, we learn that in single-core mode it displays between 2,547 pts and 2,592 pts. In multi-core mode, we’re looking at between 12,448 and 12,550 pts. It should be noted that the CPU was present in MSI and Samsung laptops.
In comparison with other models, we have :
- Core Ultra 9 185H: 2,239 pts – 11,933 pts for a TDP of 45 to 65W.
- Ryzen 7 7840HS: 2,367 pts – 11,006 pts for a TDP of 35 to 45W
- Core i5 14500HX: 2,331 pts – 12,592 pts for a TDP of 55W to 157W
- Core i7 14650HX: 2,445 pts – 13,238 pts for a TDP of 55W to 157W
- Core i7 14700HX: 2,505 pts – 13,624 pts for a TDP of 55W to 157W
In short, this looks encouraging on paper… But then again, Geekbench isn’t the most representative test of a processor’s performance ‘in the real world’. Especially since, if we focus on Geekbench, the scores put the Core Ultra 200 ahead of the Core i 14000, but this wasn’t the case in all areas, especially video games… Even if a magic bios should improve the situation.
