[Computex] Cooler Master V8, a price and a launch date!

At the beginning of the year, we told you about Cooler Master’s big new cooling unit: the V8 3DVC. The good news is that it’s back in the spotlight at Computex. This time, we know its price and launch date!

V8 3DVC: a huge ventirad priced at $109, due next year!

Cooler Master V8As you can see, this model is truly massive, despite the use of two 120 mm Mobius fans. However, it benefits from an imposing radiator featuring a so-called 3D steam chamber. The latter comes into contact with the CPU and then rises through aluminum fins in the form of heat pipes. Eight heatpipes carry the heat to the fins.

As a reminder, this massive model is designed to dissipate CPUs with high power consumption. Last January, we learned that it was capable of handling thermal envelopes of 300W. By way of comparison, that’s 20W more than a Dark Rock Elite from be quiet!

Last but not least, the big surprise for us was the reported price of $109. Considering what’s on offer here, we’d be tempted to say “only ?”, but we’ll have to wait and see. For the moment, the heatsink looks innovative. However, as for availability, we’re not holding our breath, as it’s due to arrive next year.
