On its stand, MSI is showcasing new cooling solutions, including two new CPU Coolers. These are the CoreFrozr AP15 and AP17. We’re talking about two imposing, double-tower cooling fans, with all-round casing and an LCD screen on top!
CoreFrorzr AP15 and AP17: the brand’s return to cooling fans?
There was a time when MSI offered air-cooling heatsinks, but the brand focused mainly on the AIO sector. With these CoreFrozr APs, MSI has taken another step into the air-cooling sector, offering two imposing solutions in dual-tower formats, as shown here.
With the AP17, we find a massive, fully streamlined CPU cooler. The latter features a 6″ LCD screen on the top cover, and the least we can say is that it’s very bright. It also benefits from a meticulous finish, with a brushed aluminum section. From what we can see on the label, it boasts eight copper heat pipes and a nickel-plated copper base. We can’t overlook the rear recess, which would allow a third fan to be mounted at the back.
The AP15 is a less premium solution. The screen is less luminous (it’s a segmented display) and the finish is down a notch. The heatsink is also less imposing, but like the AP17, it benefits from an eccentric base to maximize RAM compatibility and a full fairing. Finally, the heatsink is crossed by a total of 6 copper heat pipes, two less than the AP17.
In any case, we’re curious about the price. Let’s wait and see when it comes out.
