Fractal Design improves its power supply offer with the arrival of a new series. The brand focuses this time on the entry-level market with its Anode Bronze series. A power supply range with a small certification, but a semi-modular management of its cables!
Bronze Anode: Fractal Design entry-level power supplies!
For this new series, the brand puts forward three blocks with powers of 550W, 650W and 750W. In terms of cable management, all are not removable, the brand leaves the essential attached to the block. We are therefore dealing with a semi-modular model.
As for the electrical part, the brand puts forward a DC-DC converter as well as a compliance with the ATX 2.52 standard. Unfortunately, we do not have more information about the quality of the components. However, we know the certification: 80+ Bronze and we know that the blocks use a single 12V rail. In terms of protection, we have: OVP, UVP, OPP, SCP, OCP and OTP.
Regarding the connectivity, the 750W model has:
- 1x ATX 24 pins (fixed)
- 1x EPS12V CPU 4+4 pins (fixed)
- 4x PCIe 6+2 (modular)
- 8x SATA (modular)
- 2x Molex (modular)
Overall, the connectivity remains the same on all three power ratings, except for the 550W which loses a strand of three SATA.
For the moment, we do not know the price. We only know that the warranty is 5 years.
Ultra flexible cables!
In addition to the new power supplies, the Swedish brand announces new cables. The latter are intended to be ultra flexible so as not to have too much trouble during the assembly stage. The company announces compatibility with the Ion Gold, Ion+, Ion SFX and Anode Bronze series.
In the program, we find :
- 1x EPS12V CPU 4+4 pin cable 70 cm long
- 1x strand with two PCIe 6+2 sockets of 55 cm + 12 cm
- 1x strand with four SATA sockets of 40 cm + 15 cm + 15 cm + 15 cm
Of course, the finish remains simple with a flat and black colored connector.
