In the land of the rising sun, we find Scythe which announces the arrival of a new ventirad. Indeed, the Japanese Scythe offers its Big Shuriken 3 Rev B, a top flow cooler. The ideal heatsink to go on a Biostar B660GTN ? Go figure.

Big Shuriken 3 Rev B: an update of the fan!

Scythe Big Shuriken 3 Rev BWith this new heatsink, the brand offers us a product with dimensions of 122 (W) x 122 (D) x 67 (H) mm. The weight is not a problem either since it shows 490 g on the scale. Moreover, the main novelty of this revision lies in the installation system which is now compatible with the Intel LGA-1700 socket.

As for the heat sink itself, no particular change since we still find the five original copper heat pipes. The same goes for the base which is also in nickel-plated copper. The aluminum fins have a black fairing with the brand’s logo, the famous scythes. Finally, the fins have an additional cutout towards the RAM to limit the impact of the heatsink at this level.

The ventilation also evolves since we have the right to a mill Kaze Flex II 120 Slim. The latter will operate from 300 RPM to 1800 RPM, a fairly wide speed range. The air flow generated is therefore 48 CFM at full speed when the static pressure will reach 1.36 mmH2O. Keep in mind that this is a slim 15 mm thick model.
