Next month Intel is due to launch its new generation of graphics cards, the famous Battlemage. As a reminder, with this generation, the blues should offer performance capable of rivalling current-generation high-end cards. When you consider that Alchemist’s Arc A700s only focused on the mid-range, this should be good news.

In short, this series is expected next month, if the main leakers are to be believed. If an announcement is to be made at the time of Black Friday, following analysis of shipping manifests, it should take place in December.

Intel Battlemage

Battlemage, not for CES!

In the end, Intel may be trying to avoid CES by announcing its GPUs just beforehand. On the one hand, this is a smart move, since the graphics card scene will be occupied by NVIDIA and AMD. Intel now has a 0% market share in the dedicated card sector. Organising a presentation at CES would have been the best way of going virtually unnoticed. To avoid this, the brand will be announcing its cards just before the show, to attract a minimum of attention from the press and enthusiasts.

What happens next?

After Battlemage, Intel should follow up with Celestial, but things are still unclear. We know it’s planned, but we don’t know when or what’s on the agenda. For the time being, all we know is that the generation will initially be used in the mobile world.
