That’s it, motherboards with B660 chipset are officially out. For the occasion Gigabyte announces its series of cards, nevertheless, the B660i Aorus Pro DDR4 will have held our attention. Why? Because it is a reference in the ITX format, a format that is not talked about enough.

B660i Aorus Pro DDR4: ITX in DDR4 from Gigabyte!

Gigabyte B660i Aorus Pro DDR4With this card, Gigabyte offers us a compact model in mini-ITX format. This card has a LGA-1700 socket and a B660 chipset, the latest from Intel. Moreover, no DDR5 for this version, we stay in DDR4. This lowers the entry ticket.

The connectivity is reduced to the bare essentials since there is a single PCIe x16 port. Same thing, no PCIe 5.0, we stay on the previous standard with 4.0. More savings?

The storage part puts forward four SATA III connectors, classic for the format. Otherwise, as far as M.2 is concerned, we will only have the right to a single PCIe x4/x2 4.0 port directly connected to the CPU. On the other hand, we can guess that it benefits from a heatsink.

As for the rest, there are three fan sockets. The USB part has a USB 3.2 header as well as a USB 3.2 Gen1 type C header, very useful for some cases.

All that’s left to do is wait for the price, which shouldn’t be (too) high given the PCIe and RAM standards used here. In addition, you should know that this type of card offers everything you need to build a high-performance machine. One of the elements to take into account is the case, but a small Q58 from Lian Li should take care of everything.
