From Dell, and more specifically its Alienware gaming brand, we learn of the arrival of the Aurora R16. This is a new version of the brand’s pre-assembled gaming PC. And for this new version, the brand announces improved airflow and temperatures. As a bonus, the PCs are more compact.

Aurora R16: a new version of Alienware’s gaming PC!

Alienware Aurora R16Compared to the current generation of desktop machines, this R16 version is much wiser in terms of design. As you can see, the front panel is now smooth, with a logo at the top. On the sides, we have a rounded RGB border and a transparent, perforated side panel to let the inside of the PC breathe. You can tell us what you think, but the brand’s personality isn’t really there – it’s a bit bland.

The brand therefore announces that it has improved the machine’s airflow. The result is a PC that’s 20% quieter, with temperatures 10% lower for the processor and 6% lower for the GPU than current-generation machines. In addition, the footprint is reduced by 40
with the same internal volume: 25.2l. This is where we realize that the R15 was big for nothing.

Alienware Aurora R16Internally, the brand has opted for configurations that can be muscular. Naturally, for the CPU, we find 12th or 13th-generation Intel Core i chips. Graphics are based on NVIDIA’s RTX 40. There are two RAM options: 64 GB at 5200 MT/s or 32 GB at 5600 MT/s, all in DDR5. Storage is provided by two SSDs of up to 4TB, with a good old-fashioned 1TB mechanical HDD as an option. As for the power supply, it boasts either 500W or 1000W of power, while CPU cooling is provided by a 240 mm AIO.

Finally, in terms of price, you can expect to pay $1749.99 for a PC equipped with an i7 13700K and an RTX 4070.
