The Apacer and Zadak brands announce their first SSDs with a PCIe 5.0 x4 interface. With the AS2280F5 and TWSG5, we find storage with high transfer rates.
AS2280F5 and TWSG5: SSDs writing up to 12 GB/s !
On the program, the two brands are launching an SSD with the same characteristics and the same speeds. In any case, we are entitled to an SSD in M.2 2280 format with a pre-installed heatsink out of the box. Nevertheless, Zadak stands out by providing an ultra-thin graphene heatsink.
Regarding the characteristics, as we told you, these models have a PCIe 5.0 x4 interface. However, they are also backward PCIe 4.0 compatible. As you will have understood, to make the most of the speeds, you will have to turn to Intel’s latest platform: Alder Lake. It is with the latter that you will be able to take advantage of the 13 GB / s in reading and 12 GB / s in writing.
Unfortunately, the sale prices are not yet known, as is the date of availability. However, we should not expect first-price products, innovation is expensive, it shows, in particular, with DDR5 for example. On the other hand, we can tell you that the guarantee will be 5 years!
