New rumours are circulating about Intel and its future generations of processors. As you know, in October, Intel will be launching Arrow Lake, which is set to be a big hit, but what about what’s next? Apparently, Arrow Lake Refresh has been cancelled, and the company is concentrating on what comes next: Nova Lake.

No Arrow Lake Refresh!

If we’re to believe @Olrak29, there’s been a slight change in Intel’s schedule, as they’ve cancelled the Arrow Lake refresh. Instead, the company is reportedly simply concentrating on the next generation of CPUs, which is Nova Lake.

Initially, ARL-S was to be given a dust-up before a new series of CPUs. This refresh series was then due to see the light of day somewhere in late 2025, and in 2026 we would have been treated to Nova Lake. However, with this cancellation, Arrow Lake will have to last until 2026, which is two years… And that’s a long time. On the AMD side, however, there’s no Zen 6 before 2026, so it’s worth a try.

According to the rumours, this refresh would not simply have been a race for frequencies as with Raptor Lake Refresh, no. In this case, it was an increase in the number of cores in the face of the forthcoming Core Ultra 200. We’re talking about a configuration with 8 P-Cores and 32 E-Cores!

However, rumour has it that this won’t happen. The reasons behind this remain to be seen. But we can imagine that Intel is satisfied with the performance offered by ARL-S, to the point of maintaining it without new features for two years. What’s more, given what’s currently going on within the company, we can imagine that Intel has no time to waste and prefers to concentrate on concrete things.
