Aorus 5000e: a new Gigabyte SSD in PCIe 4.0!

0

New batch of SSD to land at Gigabyte which just announced its Aorus 5000E. It is a new series in M.2 format with a PCIe 4.0 interface. So, what should we expect?

Aorus 5000e: 500GB and 1TB SSDs!

Aorus 5000EOn the program, we find two SSDs in M.2 2280 format with a PCIe 4 .0 interface. In terms of capacity, it’s not going to look very high with two models, one of 500 GB and a second of 1 TB. Internally, it is difficult to say which memory controller we are dealing with. However, we know that they are equipped with 3D TLC memory chips.

In terms of performance, both versions have the same performance in sequential reading, i.e. 5 GB/s. On the other hand, in writing, the 1TB model is the fastest with 4.6Gb/s. The 500 GB version, on the other hand, shows speeds of 3.8 GB/s. Unfortunately, nothing is said about random performance.

Finally, the brand highlights the rather low power consumption of its SSDs. Gigabyte announces 30% energy savings compared to other references of the same type. A point that can tip the balance depending on your use.

Currently, the selling price is not yet known, but the availability should be effective soon.
